Title: Cellular telephones
Post by: ChrissyRyan on September 11, 2024, 12:41:53 PM
Cellular telephones maintain their size creep.
Ladies' pants pocket size are not keeping up of course.  So usually it goes in the purse or hand, or on the table.

I wonder if one day if these modern telephones will be as big as an iPad Mini.  I heard of a new trifold telephone this week!  Plus the buzz about having artificial intelligence on mobile devices, but some functions require higher end telephone models, of course!

One of my pet peeves is technology telling me what I want it to do. I have a long-standing battle with my computer in this regard. I keep disabling services and features that I don't want, and Windows decides to turn it back on.

The same is true with AI trying to interpret what I am searching for (and failing). I don't care for AI and try to block it unless I have a specific need for it, i.e. Grammarly to help catch typos, grammar, and punctuation issues.

That is not something I use my TELEPHONE for, so I don't want it on my phone.

There is a trend to go back to dumb flip telephones by some, I hear.

Sometimes, somehow, I make a telephone call completely unintentionally.

Not sure how that happens.  Perhaps I should lock my telephone after each use, that will likely stop that from occurring.

Have you ever made telephone calls unintentionally?

I haven't but I get them sometimes. It happens more with touch screens. Add vision problems and big fingers, and hitting the wrong person or number from your contact list is easy. The protector I got has a hard case and cover that slides over the front to protect the screen. I got it from Otter Box many years ago. It's a must-have when climbing around on rocks.
