Have you been to a Star Trek convention?
How was it? If you have not been to one, would you go?

I have never been, but would definitely go!
I had an Army buddy who was a Trekkie Extraordinaire. He owned a copy of everything Star Trek, from books, movies, figurines, and video games to the blueprints for the USS Enterprise and a replica of a phaser that was used in the filming of the TV series.
He invited me over to his place for a marathon session. Star Trek V was coming to the theater that weekend, so we had to watch I - IV in preparation for it. ;D

Star Trek IV kida irked me. It was a good movie, but it bothered me that Leonard Nimoy used it for his environmentalist agenda to make the movie all about "Save the Whales". But I still love the movie.

It was not a fan favorite movie if I remember what was mentioned about it.
Yes, my mom loved the original series and so we used to watch it in reruns when I was a kid.
I think conventions started in like 72-73, but in 75-76 we went to something that was ... a version of it?
It filled the 14k Hartford Civic Center and featured Roddenberry, Shatner, Nimoy and others speaking and showing clips and bloopers from the original show.
I'm sure these was more too it. But 10 year old me, I mostly remember the cool green glow sticks everyone had that lit up the arena when the lights went down. ;
