My husband's family has been awesome to me. I was nervous at first to meet them when we first started dating and my husband said it will be all ok. He was right and the nervousness went away. Met his mom first and we hugged, then it was his sister and brother and finally his dad. Told me I am loved and accepted in with open arms not being judged at all. They all got to know me well and told them my story. Good thing is they agreed with me on one thing, bottling up the problems is never the solution. His mom said she had a step brother that bottled it up for a long time knowing he was gay and committed suicide at age 30. Best part was when my husband and I got married 20 years ago, I became a part of his family as a daughter and sister in law. They are still for me to this day loved and accepted in. His family and my husband believe in love, not hate. Hatred is not allowed around them.
Nikki,
Sounds very positive!
