Hi everyone. I do enjoy traveling as one of my hobbies. My parents are both retired so I do alot of that with them. We went to Sedona Arizona about two years ago. This September we are doing a "Hawaiian Island Adventure." I've never been to Hawaii but I'm really looking forward to it.
Does anybody else like traveling? What are some places you have been to or want to go to?

Sedona is a great place to visit.
Expensive to live there but nice to visit.
What island or islands are you planning on visiting?

I would love to visit Hawaii and much of the Northwest that I have never seen. I would also like to visit the Far East.
I traveled extensively through Europe while stationed in Germany. I got to visit many old abandoned castles while there and I wish I still had the photos I took back then.
My grandfather told me to travel as much as possible because you will learn things that you will never learn in any classroom. He wasn't wrong.
Please post lots of pics of your travels. I think those would be wonderful to see.
I kno

I know we're visiting Oahu, Maui, and the Big Island of Hawaii for sure. I think we might be doing Lanai as well.
We're basically doing everything except Kauai as far as I know. :-)

I have not been to Kauai. Be sure to go to Hana.

There are more castles in Germany than there are McDonald's restaurants in America.
Some were very interesting with replicas of the crown jewels, armor, shields, and weapons on display. Some had chapels that were very ornately decorated with painted frescoes and marble statues.
While in Paris, I visited Notre Dame Cathedral. The part I remember most was the catacombs underneath. It was creepy with lots of human bones and skulls stacked against the walls.
I love traveling. I used to travel for work but now being retired I only travel for pleasure. I normally take two or three cruises a year. My next one starts this coming Saturday. Miami to Europe.
My wish list includes is a cruise through the Panama Canal and a trip down under to Australia & New Zealand.

That sounds like so much fun!
I was thinking of hiking in Patagonia.
In 2023 I had some extra money so my friends and I went from Miami to Rome. We were supposed to stop in the Azores but it was too windy to dock. We went to Malaga, Cartagena and Madrid Spain, Toulon France. I cant remember where we stopped in Corsica and then we disembarked at Civitavecchia the port of Rome. We then spent a day in Rome then flew back very early the next morning, even though we flew business class we were too early for the lounge in both Rome and Lisbon. If you count Curaco and Aruba as part of south america then I have been to 3 continents including the one I live in.
I hope to eventually be able to make it to all 7 continents even though I hate the winter cold. I have also cruised a lot in the Caribbean and went twice to Mexico, once on each coast.
I would love to visit the Azores! The last remnants of Atlantis.
As an avid Scuba Diver, I used to travel a lot to film different critters and wrecks. I have been to Vanuatu (SS President Coolidge), Bali (Reefs, Mantas), New Zealand (Reefs & Wrecks), Fiji (Reefs and Sharks), Tonga (Humpback Whales) , Dominica (Sperm W#hales), Bonney Upwelling (Blue Whales) Christmas Island (Whale Sharks), Micronesia (dived 30 WW2 wrecks), Phillipines (Reef, fish, sharks), Neptune Islands (Great White Sharks) plus hundreds of locations around Australia from Cairns to Tasmania, to Perth to Exmouth, including hundreds of dives around Wilson's Promontory (Sea Caves and seals).
My transition coincided with a sharp decline in my health, and Covid, so my travel has been restricted to towing my trailer around south eastern Australia. My health has improved to where I can consider international travel again, but two problems confront me. My health record prevents me from getting affordable Travel Insurance, and the dreaded Single Supplement Surcharges which make travel super expensive. I am retired and on fixed income so I have to be prudent. I am also concerned about where I could potentially wind up if, for instance, we had plane trouble en route to Europe or elsewhere, and had to land in a country where being trans is illegal, and can be punishable by death.
I have joined some oldies social groups, and hopefully I can join in group tours where the supplements can be avoided. I would love to return to the USA to see some of my friends, but the prices and political climate would need to change quite a bit!
Hugs,
Allie
