Title: Are there any Transgender support groups in the southeast Virginia area.

Was wondering if anyone knew of any support groups in the Southeast Virginia area. Tidewater are or Hampton Roads area.

James River Transgender Society (JRTS): Meetings are held at Diversity Richmond in the classroom. Richmond, Virginia 23230. Phone: 804-404-2425. Meetings are on the 1st Friday of each month from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Richmond Transformers: Meets at Fan Free Clinic, 1010 North Thompson Street, Richmond, Virginia 23230. Phone: 804-358-6343. Meetings are on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 7PM to 9PM


He She Ze and We: Offers support meetings for families of transgender children. Join a weekly meeting for support, education, and advocacy.   https://heshezewe.org/


Transgender Assistance Program of Virginia: Provides resources and support for transgender individuals, including a Richmond area support group.  https://tapvirginia.org/

Thank you Chrissy,  I was able to find a local support group via one of the groups that you listed above. I truly appreciate your assistance.  I am so grateful that I found this place. Since I have been here, I have really felt so welcomed and have really become to like the warmth of this place. I reached out to the group and they have virtual and in person meetings once a month. I was hesitant at firt and still am, but now I know where to go. I am thinking of starting to go to the virtual meetings at first.  This is a big step. As I have never told anyone in person other than my therapist about my transition.  So I registered fo a virtual meeting May 1st. As I like say "Keep pressing onward, there's no time to look back".
