Title: Hrt appointment didn’t go as planned
Post by: Alana Ashleigh on April 02, 2025, 07:20:52 PM
Today was my hrt consultation, and it didn't go as planned. I booked a follow up appointment via Telehealth and the woman talking to me on the video call said I would need to do an in person appointment first. I don't know when I'll be able to make an in person appointment as I work goofy hours. I'm truly heartbroken.

@Alana1990
Dear Alana:
Please don't be disheartened.

It may be likely that your first appointment/consultation may need to involve a blood draw to
determine your E and T levels and perhaps other general health blood tests and health assessment
to make certain that dosages do not cause any harm to your health.

HRT is nothing to fool around with, it can affect your entire body including organs such as
your kidneys and your liver .... it is those organs that take the brunt of the punishment
from any medications that you may take.

I am wishing you well with your plans and I want happiness and success for you.

Please keep us all updated as things progress for you.
❤️❤️❤️

HUGS, Danielle

Sorry to hear that Alana.

Is it possible to take a day off work so you can make the appointment?

As Danielle pointed out, that is what happened to me. They drew blood to check everything and that served as a baseline. Then as they added various meds, they would check the labs again to see how far things have moved. At first, it was labs every 30 days, then 90 days apart. Now they check every six months.

Hang in there. If you want it to happen, an opportunity will present itself.

Ya know, for important things sometimes you need to take a sick day/or partial day off from work. You seem so sweet I just hope you keep moving forward. Best wishes and let us know what happens. Gives ya some ****hugs**** ...

Hi Alana

As others have suggested make another appointment and then take that day off.

I hope you are able to get the next appointment so that you can continue your journey.

Take care and all the best for the future.

Best Wishes Always

Hi Alana,
I understand your concerns, when I had my first appointment, they did a life style assessment such as did I smoke, how much did I drink, how often did I exercise. The endocrinologist then instructed the nurse to measure my height and check my weight and blood pressure, we went over any allergies and had my blood work taken. I am sure all will go well for you, its just a procedure thing to protect both the prescriber and the patient. It is lovely to hear that at last your on your Journey
