Title: I just want to be myself.
Post by: Princess Rachel Ann on April 13, 2025, 10:05:16 PM
Hey, I am saddened by recent events. I just want to transition to female, but it's hard at the moment because I live in the Bible Belt, and certain a-holes in our government just want trans people to disappear, but that won't happen. The fact is I just want to be myself, my true self which is a girl, who believes in God. Sorry if this is depressing, I just want to transition.

I know the feeling very well. The fact is that you ARE a girl. No legislation can change that. But I get what you mean. Being stifled and feeling unable to express your true self in dress and behavior is depressing.

You may find, as many of us have, that sometimes the best move is away. My uncle told me to "vote with my feet and get out." Not everyone can just pack up and go. But you can make a plan. Figure out exactly what it would take to be able to go somewhere less oppressive. It may take time, but working on your plan little by little helps keep up the motivation.

I am not moving until July, but I am already packing stuff now. Stuff I won't need, but I can do a little every day. When something upsets me about being here, I retaliate by packing more stuff. "I'll show them!" I focus on the day when I will pull out of the parking lot giving them the finger.  ;D

That is a good point. And thanks.

Hey Rachel Ann,

Can I call you Princess?

I felt your heart in every word.

I believe in God too, and I want you to know you're not alone in this.

I understand that deep longing to simply be your true self, to live fully and freely as the woman you are, all while holding tightly to your faith.

That tension can be so heavy when the world, or certain voices in it, try to tear those two truths apart.

Like Lori said, I voted with my feet a long time ago and left the place I once called home. I still have family there, and  two brothers who aren't like me, but I still love them dearly.

If you choose to stay where you are for reasons that matter to you, that's okay too. Just know this: you can resist the pressure without losing who you are.

I live in the Northeast now, where there's a bit more support, but my journey has had its share of rejection, pressure to hide, and long internal battles.

Wondering if I could truly be both transgender and a believer in God.

But here's what I've come to know deep in my soul:

God doesn't make mistakes.
He sees us. He knows us. And He walks with us, even when others don't understand.

You deserve to transition, you deserve peace, you deserve to live in alignment with the truth God placed inside you.

Being trans doesn't separate us from God's love, it reflects His depth, His creativity, and His grace.

So please, never apologize for your feelings. Your desire to be yourself isn't depressing.

It's sacred. It's courageous. It's beautiful.

We're walking this road with you, even from afar.

We're not going anywhere.

With love,

~ Lilis 💗

Dear Princess Rachel Ann, Thanks for the heart-achingly beautiful post. I'm sending you a spiritual hug and hope it brings you a measure of comfort. I live somewhere less accepting than the Bible Belt, Montana. Here, people seldom use the pretense of God's will to despise us. Lilis' response to your despair reflects my own. And Lori's suggestion to 'vote with your feet' may, someday, be your only option. Or, at the very least, your best option. I assume that 'someday' is not today and you must live, at least for a time, in the same world in which you awakened this morning. Me, too. I love my home and seldom stray far from sight of it. When I do, I dress like a man. Otherwise, I might never be able to return home. So, dress like a boy when necessary. Dress like the girl you are when possible. My daughter is starting to accept my 'queerness'. But it has taken her more than two years to reach that place. Give those who love you time. But don't sacrifice who you are doing it. Susan's Place has been a lifesaver for me. When I am on this site, I know I am loved. And so are you.

Galatians 3:26 - 28

"So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus."

You are not alone.

It is a thought of mine too to simply be me.

It is a new way of life.

Take the good with the bad, they are both to come to some degree.

Best to you,

Chrissy

Ooooh, they are painful and quite discomforting.
I hope this gets resolved right away.
