Have you eaten a Scotch Egg? They are not supposedly NOT Scottish.
Scotch Eggs are hard boiled cooked eggs wrapped in some sausage meat and then covered in breadcrumbs or cornflakes. They are deep-fried.
Do you eat them as a snack or as a meal?
Eaten them as a snack many times.
Yes... omg yes. They are very much not Scottish. They don't have a trace of Mars Bar about them. They are one of my favourite sides with a salad and some meat sandwiches. There are a lot of derivations to this, like the Manchester Egg... which is wrapped in Bury black pudding instead of sausage meat... and honestly, which I prefer. I LOVE black pudding, even though it disgusts most people, lol. It is quintessentially English. Scotch Eggs are so, SO yummy!
Yes, yes, and yes!
I'm a fool for sausage right up front. The boiled egg is a bonus especially if the yolks are soft.
Many a time!

Have you made Scotch eggs? Is this a food often available at taverns there?

Hah, it's available in taverns, and supermarkets. :P There's nothing better we like than calling in to Ye Olde Tescos for a flagon of ale and a Scotch egg after a hectic day dragon slaying. ;D
