Title: Emotional changes
Post by: Alana Ashleigh on June 03, 2025, 09:22:28 PM
The last few days, I've really begun noticing emotional changes from HRT. It really caught me by surprise. There's been a few times where I've felt completely overwhelmed with emotions. I'm beginning to notice that I'm getting a bit moody at times to. Just seeing a sad meme is enough to get me feeling emotional. I've always been an unemotional person, so this is something I was looking forward to.

Congrats Alana!

It can definitely be new territory and takes a bit of getting used to but, I think you sense that this is how we are supposed to experience life... truly feeling it!!! Enjoy the ride sister!!!

Hugs!

Let us know if this continues over the first month for you.  We are each different.

Try not to get too moody.  Maybe be tough at times but be aware of the context of the situation when this occurs.

Hey Alana,

This is part of your alignment with your true self. My therapist used to remind me to be patient and compassionate with myself during these changes.

Allow your emotions to surface, don't suppress them.

They need space to move through you, and expressing them is a healthy and necessary part of the process.

Yesterday was hard with how emotional I was feeling. Today hasn't been too bad. It's a bit overwhelming with all the physical and mental changes happening to me.

Yes I agree I'm also in the early stages of transition and I've only been on HRT or about 6 months now and I can attest as well that I definitely get more emotional more frequently and just about anything can cause it from kids movie to random thoughts in my head

Yes, there can be some ups and downs.  If you get angry try to remain calm and in control, realizing what is going on, what is being said, try to relax and avoid talking loudly.

If you get sad, think of happy things.

If you feel lonely, think of good times you have had with others.

If you are scared, call a friend.

If you are happy, enjoy that.
