In certain areas I'm a mixture of stereotypes- trans man who loves the gym, metal, cars and cried when he watched "I saw the tv glow" ; gay/bi man who loves his boyfriend and has whole posts and albums dedicated to him, who rewatches queer movie classics as if on schedule, who played hundreds of visual novels; the immigrant who learned to hide his accent, who learned to speak his own language in the privacy of his own home, hiding his culture under his sleeve; the writer with the troubled childhood, the one who daydreamed and avoided all else to lose himself in papers and notes; the valedictorian who sacrificed outings to ace papers, the teachers pet that cried over anything other than a perfect A; the nerd who watches movies and programs hours on end, bad at videogames but great at understanding their dynamics. But at the end of the day, I'm the collage of everything that makes me up. I'm a kaleidoscope of evil around me, sometimes even within me, and the beauty of life, as well as everything that could possibly be in between. At the end of the day, some of the words just stick to the bottom of my mouth, until I type them out or whisper them into the dark, as meaningless as they may seem. That is my general intro.
Thank you for that wonderful introduction!

Welcome, Chilaquil. You sound a lot like a lot of us - a unique, complex individual who's trying to find and express everything that lies within. We're very glad you've joined us.

Woe!
I've marveled and pondered over your introduction for hours.
It's truly an act of self-love and courage.
So, just... thank you.
For letting us in and showing that identity doesn't have to be neat or fixed it can be beautiful, complex, vulnerable, and very much alive.
I relate to so much of what you shared, as someone who identifies as non-binary and genderfluid.
Your collage metaphor really resonated with me.
Embracing all those layered identities allowing them to coexist in contradiction and harmony isn't a weakness...
...but a profound strength when we begin to understand and honor them.
Welcome to Susan's Place! 💞
