Title: Oblivion(TES4): Char face generation of some use?
Post by: Kimberly on March 24, 2006, 12:14:30 AM
Oblivion. TES4 (The Elder Scrolls 4).

Apart from being a pretty and fun game, the character generation portion may be of some interest to some in that you can customize the character's face via many parameters. Playing with this may help to put your finger on just what facial features you like.

However, it is next to impossible to get the same face again (*sigh* they dropped the ball there, but never mind that) so making a likeness of yourself and tweaking to a feminine (or masculine) appearance may nor be worth the effort, but it is a possibility, even if remote.

I've done the same thing in every game I've ever played (that allows this sort of thing anyway).  One of the best tools I've found is the game Second Life.  There are far more customization controls in SL than anything I've ever seen, and the skins are totally customizable too.  In fact everything is, and it can be changed and tweaked at any time.  You can even switch back and forth between male and female at any time.  And SL is completely free.  :)

This brings up the subject, is there any software out there that lets you load your own face and play with it?  It's possible in photoshop, but you need a PhD damn near to get any usable results out of it.

I wouldn't mind using something for quick what-if'ing, playing with different hairstyles, makeup...
