Had my court date this morning for my name change. I was really nervous as I have never been in a court room before. It was really easy and didn't take too long. Now the fun part begins were I have to do some real legwork. Bank accounts, school records, student loans, etc, etc. Sheewww............ thats gonna be some work.
Goodbye FORD
hello
Audrey

Good luck with the changing of all your records. Just think once you're done you're done!

Im glad the courts were kind to you. Have fun, the rest is going to be some real excersize ;)
I don't know why, but this is so terribly important to us. I'm thrilled for you Audrey.
It's a difficult and important step to make.

Congratulations indeed.
I have to agree with Cindi the name change is probably one of the most significant steps in transition as more often than not your cover is blown so-to-speak :)
Personally I found that actually changing my name on all the legal and financial documents at all the institutions more work than the name change process.
Congratulations again.

CONGRATS !!!! to you Audrey hun . and for you makeing the rest of the changes should be a breaze :)
Congratulations Audrey!
When I changed my name, I almost passed out in the courtroom from the event.
One of the other subtle thrills will be when you buy/lease/rent some big ticket item and your true name is on it from the start!
Then of course you'll start getting all that snail spam mail offering you vacation resort timeshares, but seeing your name on the envelope will still be a wonder.
It is a huge milestone, congratulations again!

Hi audrey, glad you got everything finalised..
In the U.K we don't have to go to court to make a legal name change. I made an appointment with a solicitor in early 2004 and it took about 10 minutes in their office. The hardest bit was changing all the documentaion and making sure nothing had been left out on any computer databases.
It took about 10 months to make sure every stone had been turned and every detail and document had been changed. Passport, driving license, National Insurance, Voting poll, Medical Card, NHS, Bank accounts, etc etc...
Congratulations Audrey!
Oooooooooh you have so much admin ahead of you! >:D
Wow, what great news and here, lemme give you a giant CONGRATULATIONS!!
A very big day, Audrey. I am so happy you've had yours!! Of course now expect it to get back to normal: duns come with your new name on them!! hahahaha
Hugs,
Nichole
Congratulations, Audrey! I know it must feel great to have this step behind you.

I'm very happy for you Audrey! It is a huge step that means a lot, I started crying when the judge approved mine.

You are at the beginning of your womanhood, a very pretty one at that. I'm just a tad bit jealous.

Goodbye FORD!
Hello TOYOTA!
Congrats on the name change ;)
Thanks everyone. And I have to say that it is ok to raz me about my old name "Ford" :P. My gait belt at work used to say Ford on it but I marked it out and put Audrey. There is this really old guy there who I take care of and he always said "hmmm Ford Audrey" over and over. So I took a permanent marker and scribbled out ford the best I could. Problem is he still remembers. Darn it I thought dementia made people forget. Actually though it is pretty funny.
Also on my court date it was kind of embarrassing when the judge called me up by my boy name. I was like darn it cant you just read the case #. Oh well, the other people in the court room were kind of surprised though.

"Ford Thomas Walker" eh? Your mom must have really LOVED you when you were born...
Ya know, somehow, and I don't know why this is, but "Audrey" just goes better with the face. Call me crazy, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it. ;D
Hi, I agree with Amarant
