Every time I think the homophobes here have cornered the mark on complete batsh*ttery, here comes something out of left field from the international set. Let's examine the wisdom of Knesset Member Shlomo Benizri.
"But I no of another way to prevent earthquakes; the Gemara mentions a number of causes of earthquakes, one of which is homosexuality, which the Knesset legitimizes," Benizri said.

Yet another classic from the conservative set. Oi vey, what next?!
All the time hon. All the time... >:D
Well it probably could cause earthquakes you know, since it causes hurricanes and terrorist attacks over here in the US according to the funnymentalists...
Interesting notion. :) I wonder if this Shlomo had ever heard of the Rift Valley or of its probable association with several 'miracles:' like the walls of Jericho falling down and the destruction of the 'Cities of the Plain,' Sodom and Gomorrah?
Now to find out that all that was caused by homosexuality! That's sure impressive, a sexual orientation causing natural disasters. Hmmm.

Clearly if all of the queer people gathered together, they could mold the environment to their will

Clearly they were talking about the butterfly effect. Which is why they had all the butterflies killed.
One fairy flaps his wings... ;)
Oh, a political type that lies? I'm shocked.
You know, we could remind the Knessit that the queer problem could taken care of in a very direct manner.
It's sort of a final solution.
It was demonstrated by some Germans a few decades ago on homosexuals, gypsies, and Jews. It seemed to work quite well. Perhaps they forgot.

That big wall they build proved they not only forgot, but that they are stupid too.

Well, ya. It was them homosexual Sodomites as caused the earthquake that destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.
Ok, Sodomites, and Sodom, got it, been there, got the t-shirt. But what's up with Gomorrah? Where can I do that, and how much will it cost me?
The guy is a true representative of the brutes who wrote his bible.

Hang on! Wasn't there a rain of fire and pillars of salt in that story too?!
Damn. Harry Potter on mega magic juice, doesn't have a patch on us. But then, he's a vile creation meant to steal our children's souls for the devil too ... hmmmm.

Oh, them Gomorrites was the people what tollerated the Sodomites. Just like tolleratin' homosexuals was what caused 9/11.
:D WOW......that is so insane. I don't really know what to say about that one except.....WOW.

You know, people get PAID good money to write fiction not even half as good as this stuff...
One thing though, I went to the source article and looked at some of the comments. Unlike similar articles in the US, the comments from people were actually much more understanding and accomodating. Most of them thought this guy was a nutcase and many felt he should resign. And the ones who supported his case were in the minority.
Just wanted to put this in perspective. This person doesn't represent the majority or even a significant minority of opinons.

No, true. Absolutely. But he is SUCH a nice little molehill to make a mountain out of, don't you think?
I say we kick him in the groin and see if it he prefers it over an earthquake.
