"While Spitzer was keen on bestowing rights to gay citizens -- it was under his watch that New York determined it would recognize legal same-sex marriages performed outside the state -- it bodes exceeding well that Paterson has a magnificent track record on gay issues, which he deems a civil rights issue. In fact, he has stated that the gay rights movement is this generation's equivalent of the black civil rights movement."
Paterson felt compelled to come out today and admit to indiscretions he has had in the past. He has dealt a blow to those who might use it against him.
Why in the world... why are we so concerned about all this? Humankind used to admire leaders with great sexual prowess. Why do we even care anymore? It should be between him and his wife. That's where resolution and forgiveness must come. The government and its people should have nothing to do with it.
I am glad that Paterson is the new governor. He has so many superb qualities for the position.

I'm more worried that unconstitutional use of wire taps brought down the previous one.

It comes back to bite them. How can we tolerate these fundamental violations to our constitution? .... a little bit at a time and they'll not even notice..... (so they think)
I'm thinking he noticed. And what were they doing wiretapping him? If the government thinks that the state of New York is a terrorist deal, then we all are lost.
