Title: My First Picture Here: What gives me off????
Post by: Tanya1 on March 21, 2008, 08:11:07 AM
I've been on HRT for like 3 months in this photo. I still look like a guy, I know. My hair is pretty short.

Tell me what features do I think I should work on?

What gives me off?

Do I like a good canditate for HRT?

How old do you think I look?

How's my face shape?

Eyes?

Lips?

Cheeks?

Head?

well tanya the only one thing i can see right now is the hair . for the most part ::) maybe if you let it grow

out . to say maybe  down past your ear,s . and then get a fitting female hair style . that you look the best

in . as far as the rest of your question,s  not too much i see i dont think. but i will say for your age . not

that really matters . but if i had to guess. i would say maybe 17 to 18 maybe. but iam just guessing on the

age :)

Hi, Tanya, i would also say hair, grow it out or don't spike it, dress a little more feminine, definitely helped me. other than that i agree with debbie, i don't see anything either.

I takes more than 3 months in most cases, usually its around 6 that you start really getting weird looks.

Between 3-6 you're mostly androgynous.

Since you've got a small chin, small jawline, a small nose and no brow bossing and a good hairline.

I'd say its only the still not fully full cheeks (they slowly fill in and there is a tipping point where this is seen as female) and the not fully devellopped puffyness around the mouth and the short hair that is the issue. Not many woman have hair this short and almost no TS can pull it off in the first 9 months of HRT (later, its possible).

Also, your own notion of how you look it not necessarily the same as how others see you.
In 3 months, you may think you look male when others see you as female.

As what age you look, 17-18? I look in my late 20's at 40 so its very hard to tell age,

I can see you as female just as you are, no hair or clothing changes.  You could pass as a really hot butch dyke if you just had boobs.  That will come with time.

Hi Tanya, you have a great hairline and I think once you let your hair grow you will not
have a problem at all.

Smile more too! All women smile, it's their relaxed expression and it really helps
the face shape. I have been working on keeping a smile plastered on my face no
matter what I'm doing and I think it really helps.

I don't know why people think HRT is some magic potion that will turn them from a man into a female. There are many different physical factors related to transition and HRT is only a small part of it.....

I don't think anyone is a special candidate for HRT and hormones may work differently on some to how it may work on others. At the moment you just look like a regular guy so no one knows what you will look like once you start your transition, FFS and long term HRT.....

Thanks for pointing that out!

I know that HRT has it's limits in passing.

For example, behaviour, personality, attitude, clothing, belief, voice, manners and interaction are a big piece.

LOL- my nose isn't small. I need rhino. The angle that the pic is taken just hides the size of my nose..lol

My cheeks are my biggest problem...

LOL I'm actaully self-conscious about my hairline....

Yea, I need to work on the smiling

I think your hairline is recediing, just a little.  And your nose does need rhino.  Hate to point those things out to you, but you're already aware of them and I think that it's great that you're realistic.  You will be most success in your path toward "passing" if you try and keep a positive self image, yet not have expectations that are too high.

Otherwise, you make a cute dyke :D

Hi,

I agree with those who think you look kind of like a lesbian.  Your eyes are beautiful and they are what put you over on the female side for me.

Right now, you look very androgynous.  I'm an androgyne and I would love to look like you do.

I agree with Amanda about smiling, but that's your choice.  I like to let my own eyes do most of my smiling.

And like Lisbeth says, with time, there will be boobs.  I think you'll be fab.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with your hairline at all which is not receeding. I think more needs to be looked at in other areas...

- HRT is fine for me and I'm on it.

LOL. I already know about my nose. My jaw also need a bit work in my opinion. I don't like my bone structure on my face though.- But I don't have a lot of facial fats. My hairline is fine but I just want a better hairline..

It doesn't look like you have started your transition yet so maybe post a picture again in a year or so once things have started to change?

^ Okay. Yea, I look like a "normal guy" don't I? I'll give the hormones more time, grow out my hair and buy some clothes.  ;D

You need longer hair.
That's it.
You look like a very feminine teenager or a young woman in her 20's.
Definitely need the hair, unless you want to look like a butch lesbian. ;)

Please give the HRT more time before you get overly concerned.  Your pose is rather male and that doesn't help.

Is the HRT making any unseen changes to your body, things that we cannot see in this photo?

^ Yes it is. That photo I actaully INTENDED to look male- even though I don't want to.- It was for a project. I don't wear suits at all- I hate wearing them.

Effects from HRT you guys can't see

- Increased nipple size
- Breasts Budding
(My breasts are developing somewhat- Still small but their getting some shape.)
-Less acne from before, less oily skin and softer skin (My aunts, mother, and sister are commenting on the skin)- Some1 accussed me of make-up too
-The growth of my facial hair has slown down
- I noticed my eyelashes getting a little longer
-Weaker- much weaker. I can't beat my mother in arm wrestling. I still have some muscles that need to be reduced but overall the amount has decreased.
-Family noticing me getting skinnier.
- I get colder easily.
-Sex Drive reduced to nothing, all erection gone and they hurt if I try.

Mental Changes From HRT

-Well I easily cry when I get upset. Before I never probably would cry. No matter how bad a situation was- tearing was my last resort.
-much calmer, easy to talk to and I listen more
-Less angry
- I see things differently a little too
-I have some attraction to men but more to women. I still don't feel "right" with men but I wouldn't mind having a boyfriend.

Well I agree. The changes are somewhat slow, subtle, and also miscellanous. Like you can't tell exactly what is changing. EX- eyelashes growing.

I will give HRT it's time and I WON'T over-dose and stick to my doctor's dose. I will give it 2 years to see significant changes and at most 7-9 years for further changes as hormones change things over time NOT over-night. I may be switched to injections soon, doc said to wait for blood tests and changes etc...

yea, mom is stronger than me

i know how you feel Tanya, my estranged mother has always been stronger than me, one lady to never mess with is mom. my wife when preggers as she is now, is like two or three times stronger than i am, i don't really work out anymore nor do i try to throw tires around like the guys, i really don't like to be dirty as i get in people's cars a lot due to my job. they always say don't worry about plastic, yeah well there's always that one person who'll make a fuss just after they told you it was ok to get in their vehicle all dirty.

Best Wishes

well, sorry to say this, but ya are an extremely handsome boy.

the girls that were falling all over you must be dying now.

you seem worthy of receiving a mind reading.

(reading your mind now) oh. i see you're not really interested in transitioning yourself. what's this? what you really want is to marry a trans girl? hmm, with strawberry blond hair, with gorgeous _____s and ___.

ahem! well then. call me. *sighing*
