Title: After a lot of thought
Post by: TheBattler on April 03, 2008, 11:45:16 PM
I have decided I should look to start Hair removal within the next few months. It is no secrite I am on HRT and most probably will not be able to give it up. All of my old feelings are returning since E is making me feel good - is it little wonder Alice wants to be out.

I saw myself having two choices - back off the E and make things go slower - or start hair removal so if I am left with a new body in the future (I am on Anti Androgen and changes should become more noticable) I am at least closer to going full time or presenting female part time (24*7-40 for example). Hair removal on the face does not mean I can not present as a male in the future - it just means I will not be able to grow a beard.

Timeline - I have given myself 3 months to check things out and make sure I am happy. The next week or two I am hopful that my body gets used to Anti-Angrogyn and I will start to fill better. Two months on research (ok - it may only take me a week) and start mid-winter right after my birthday (and possible outing to Kangaroo Valley for another weekend. That put me starting hair removal in July (20th July the latest date to start).

Wish me luck.

Alice

Yay, Alice!  I'm so happy things are coming into focus for you!  Now stop all of the worrying, and take some time off to be good for yourself.  You deserve it.  Great going!

I wish my family had the money...

I'm stuck sneaking into the bathroom at 3 am to epilate the hell out of myself. I have yet to get it all off...

At least the hair doesn't grow back as fast anymore...
I HATE IT

Hi,  i was in exactly the same boat not long ago, and i did go for laser - one of the best decisions i ever made.  Even in male mode, i just love the cleaner look.  Worked great for me.  When asked about it (rarely) i just say that i had it done because of severe shaving irritation and ingrow hairs.  No one has second guessed me, and some have even asked me about it (even their wives telling their husbands to do it).  Since the total treatment was over almost 2 years most people didnt even noticed.  As long as i keep my hairstyle short and groomed i am fine.

Congrats Alice, that's a big, big step for you. As far as presenting as a "guy", of course you can do that while you get your facial hair removed. I've done it since last July. You will probably get comments like:

"why is your face red/splotchy?"
"you look younger, what did you do, get a haircut?"
"you look so different, but I can't figure out what's different about you"

It takes a while for the hair removal, so definitely that out as you take each step. I like that you are going slowly, especially in light of your feelings and how you started this whole thing. You have had a lot of doubts and questions and you've been going slow, which is a good thing! Keep up the good work, Meghan
