Title: Transphobia, Korean style [video]
Post by: Hazumu on April 05, 2008, 04:04:38 PM
EMBEDDING DISABLED

QuoteThe parents (who happens to be christians) finds out that his son was having a relationship with a transsexual.
The father demands to see her ID because sex changed individuals still retains former gender on the ID as it is not legalized (as in many other countries in the world)

That was really sad. As if we need self-righteous a*seholes like that on top of everything else in our lives.

Although I know Catholism is very strong in Korea,
I don't think they were depicted positively here,
the TS girl obviously was supposed to be seen
positively.

Everybody else was just dripping with hate
and looked ridiculous, with cursing
and fainting
and the slap by the boyfriend seemingly
out of left field.

Unless such melodramatic is seen positively in Korea
(not sure since I've obviously not seen their soaps).

Well Shy will have an easy time of it with mine since I haven't talked to them in about a decade for one. Nor do I care what their opinion is of anything I do. :D

Very dramatic, loved the music, made me cry.

But I believe South Korean transsexual people have been able to change documents since 2006

That still doesn't protect people from the bigotry of a large and largely conservative catholic community or from the ever growing evangelical churches though.

Sad. No one has the right to treat any one less than a human being. This is the reason so many LGBT people have rejected God, the church, or anything to do with Christianity. This is why I am reaching  out to the transgender community. I happen to be transgender, a crossdresser and a Christian. God loves people regardless of their sexuality or gender expression.

Why is it that God always comes up when prejudice rears its ugly head? Does God make it o.k. to hate? I'll pray for you and your evil ways. You are not who you say you are....you are a fake....sigh. That was really sad.

That man is in dire need of a ->-bleeped-<-.

XD hahahaha.

Yeah, god is the universal excuse for anything.... generally excusing things that are unexcusable otherwise.

War, prejudice, abuse etc...
