QuoteYesterday, 56 North Carolina Representatives filed a new version of the anti-LGBT, anti-marriage constitutional amendment in the State House. This follows the introduction of a similar bill in the Senate two weeks ago.
The far right is pushing hard to pass this bill in the coming weeks.

Anti-LGBT Amendment Update
As our Action Alert subscribers know, far-right legislators in both the House and Senate have re-introduced an anti-LGBT constitutional amendment this session. More than a thousand of our Action Network members have responded to our alerts and contacted their Senator and Representative to ask them to oppose this attempt to write anti-LGBT discrimination into our state constitution.
Currently, the bills are in the Rules Committees of the two chambers. Equality NC's lobbyist is monitoring them daily, and we are working with leaders in both houses to defeat these bills. At a time when there are so many pressing issues facing our state, we are asking legislators to address issues that really matter to most North Carolinians, rather than attacking a minority group for calculated political gain.
