Title: SRS in the U.K?
Post by: Berliegh on April 16, 2008, 07:45:04 AM
Are there any good SRS Surgeons in the U.K? I've heard about some of the bad one's in the U.K and hopefully someone will come up with someone new that I've not heard of before? But it does look like the better one's are overseas...

i've been researching this too, and yeah it looks like the better ones are overseas (and they're cheaper).
from what i've heard the two uk surgeons with the best reputations are James Bellringer and Phillip Thomas.

Other than the well known surgeons, there's a few more surgeons but they have less experience and its difficult to find examples of their work on the internet, and i ain't gonna let them come anywhere near me!

Hi Berliegh

I would rank Thomas before Belringer and prefer not to think about the other. More advanced surgery techniques available both in Thailand and North America.

There are lots of things to consider before deciding on a surgeon including your general health, what your expectations are, how much donar material you have, recovery time, need for hair removal, budget, availability of referal etc..................... There is not any best surgeon for all people.

Phil Thomas, James Bellringer and Tim Terry are the only 3 (unless somebody else is taking a VERY low profile!!)

Tim Terry used to have quite a poor reputation (mainly for being erratic rather than consistantly bad), I haven't heard much negative about him in quite a while though.  I get the impression that his work has improved a lot of late.

Still though, I'd rather choose Thomas or Bellringer, I know a lot of people very happy with their results from both these surgeons.  I will hopefully be having genital surgery with Bellringer in the summer so I'm very confident he's a good choice!  Thomas probably has a slightly better reputation, but I had personal reasons for choosing Bellringer instead.

In terms of private options there is also Chris Inglefield out of London Bridge Hospital.  The rumours are that he is quite good but I've not managed to speak with one of his SRS patients firsthand, nor have I seen any photos of his work.  I am, however, hoping to see him in the next few weeks to discuss labiaplasty with him.  If anybody has used him for SRS, or labiaplasty in particular, I would be very interested.

I am thinking of having SRS on the NHS however I will have to do some serious research as I have seen a few results however they aren't great, compared to Thailand surgeons or the US. However that will cost some serious moneys!
