The Plus Two student has rarely travelled out of Koovagam and was stunned to learn that his village had been written about across the world for its annual Chitrai festival, where the transgender and gay community congregate.

The article said something about "gay and transgender" but wasn't at all clear what the whole thing was actually about. Very poor writing, left me wondering what any of it had to do with anything.
