Same reason bologne is round and bread is square
and we
drive on a parkway but park in a driveway ::)
Couldn't resist and this is the only logical explination I have come up with!
Personally for me, I think they just did not know a boy when they saw one! Too busy making me fit into some box that was labeled wrong! lol
Peace,
Taylor
Not to sound overly religious but we feel the next person God was to create was to be a female. However, this person was to be soul mates with someone who was female (my wife). Since He wasn't about to join 2 females together so He gave one of us the 'proper' body and one a male body. I guess He nominated me to wear that male body but left all my major creation as female such as emotions, mind etc. As my wife says, ' He just put Kim into Ken's body so our union will be blessed by all'.
That does border on the homophobic, Kim. There are lots of female/female couples out there that are just as good a fit or as bad a fit as any other couple.
And I'm not religious by any stretch of the imagination, but if there is a god, it's clear s/he created a diversity of people, genders and sexual orientations, including lesbian.

Good point Dennis.
I realize now that this has become a serious thread so i'll answer my own question.
I believe god, fate, karma, destiny, however you call it created me like this in order to teach & test my spirit. most people with my background would say there is no god but I know he does things or lets things happen to me for a reason...1. if not to share, inspire, and touch other human beings in this world.
So I was born this way to fullfill a purpose and become whatever it is you wish to call me.
I prefer simply,
CHYNNA
I was born this way because the world needed more short guys with glasses who can't throw a football.
Dennis
I like that reason, Dennis.
Maybe that's why I was created, too. But I wear contacts. :D

My dear lady,
Lacking the proper equipment, how could I do anything but catch? >:D
Hope everyone realizes that was a joke. ;)

Hey everyone,
After reading Stephen Hawkings books I have come to realize that we need not think in terms of reverse engineering. Perhaps there is no reason we are like we are, perhaps we are like we are only because it was possible.
We are the realization that when scrambling the genitic code that makes up humans, combined with natural mutations to dna, there is a mathmatical probability that some would be like us. Perhaps we need not look for the reason we are the way we are and accept that we are here because we could be.
Love always,
Elizabeth

I just want to clarify my response. We are not homophobic, however a lot of society is. And a lot of religions teach lesbian/gay is a sin. It's a touchy subject but all I was trying to say is that He created me this way so I would be more easily accepted in society, while living out life the way I was meant to.

KIM,
Well said

I realize I wouldn't be near the woman I am today if I had been born female. In living all those years in pain, I learned many things and it shaped my character very positively. I certainly wouldn't want to have turned out like my sister.

Originally I'd posted something else here, but after receiving a PM from one of you; I started to think what that person said on the PM, and after searching my soul, reopening the scars, digging into the wounds, and re-living the experiences of my life. :'( I no longer think that someone up there messed up big time :'(
Thank you Kim for helping me see beyond my resentment. :'( If I had been born female, a simple PM like the one you wrote me would not have made such a big difference in my life. Thank you.

I told them that indeed God does not make mistakes, but that he must allow them to happen.
I like that one. :) I think I'll use it next time.

I was born female, I was just wrapped up in the wrong package.
Steph
My friend who is trans put it this way.
He was born that way not only to find out who he was meant to be, but also to teach others it's ok to do what you feel is right on the inside.
The way he put it sounded more poetic but you get the point.
I feel the same way. I may not be trans (I see myself more as andro) but I understand where he was coming from. :)
My dad wanted a girl. So he could dress 'her' up for the family parties.
My mom wanted a reminder of her father. Because she loved him dearly, like she loves me.
