Title: Blood tests before T?

Does anyone know what specific blood tests are usually run before starting T?

hmm... good question.  I think i remember them saying something about blood count levels 'cause T increases those and that can be a problem.  Probably cholesterol too.  Hormone levels.  I don't know what else *shrug*

CBC, liver function, hormone levels.

That would be the basics.  There may be more depending on what the doctor wants to see.  Also it may be slightly different for a FTM.  I'm just talking about the tests I went through.

The ones that seem to matter are testosterone levels, oestrogen levels, cholesterol and liver function but they do occasionally do fasting blood sugar levels. There are loads of other results on the list from the clinic but the ones above are the ones they seem to concentrate on.

Well before I can start T I have to have the following checked out! Got the letter in front of me.. Im not sure what the following means but hey someone might do!

BP,FBC, U&Es, LFTS,LFTS, Lipids, Glucose, LH, FSH, Oestrogen and Testosterone.

Thats what my doctor wants me to get checked out before I start T.

he he, i just got my lab bill... 2 months later.  CBC with differential/platelet.  Comp Metabolic Panel.  Lipid Panel.  Testosterone.  All for 160 bucks.  damn i need health insurance.
