ok, i only work part time and recently came out as ts at work. problem is i only work part time, so it doesn't help with them referring to properly as the gender i present. i have a couple of guys helping out, which is a start, but everyone else just catches themselves but doesn't correct themselves, which i find a little offensive, the others just don't give a damn, which i also find completely offensive. we just hired a new guy, and my service manager made sure that i wouldn't be an issue with him, which was nice but i kinda wish i had been asked first because now i am afraid that he sees a woman but all he hears is the wrong gender. i can see the look in his eye and it is one of fascination [maybe adoration?] even once i start on hormones, there probably isn't much that will change other than the size of my breasts, but that's never really been in an issue either, i've noticed a lot of people just see a flat chested woman.
my question is at least for the ladies, if you worked only part time and transitioned on the job, how did you get people to recognize your correct gender?
tbh, i figured the younger you were the easier it would be to switch for something like this, but i am finding out that it is completely the opposite. i talked with my counselor and he believes that i possibly need my head boss to step in and address the situation with those involved and tell them that i am supposed to be addressed properly for those that have a lack of anything that doesn't deal with them.
all input is welcomed,
Mickie
