Title: Spikes Guy Here
Post by: wolfie on June 02, 2006, 05:07:02 AM
Acentino (Tino) here. Just got the net at our new place up and running and heard a lot about this site from my fiancee (username: spike) that's gotten a lot of great support through susans place. I love the fact that she cares so much about me that she researches info for me and is completely involved in my transition... my life.

On the other hand, I don't want me being transgendered to feel like a "disease" where it's always talked about and that I need to focus on it all the time. Since I can remember I have identified as a bio guy. Sure I may live in a dillusional world, but it's worked for me all along. I've been living as male ("fulltime") for almost 5 years now but knew from a very early age that I was male (told my grandma I was going to be a boy when I grew up).

I'm not entirely sure what to say as an intro. I feel that spike has explained a lot of my/our lives and situations that we're going through.

Some fun little facts, I'm a landscaper, passed Halo 2 thirty some odd times and love spending time with my fiancee and daughter (they're both getting really good at video games to  ;D).

I look forward to meeting some of you,

-TINO-

Hello Tino.

If you feel you have said enough then you have said enough :)  Welcome to Susan's and yes I have to agree that our transitions do run the risk of completely taking over our lives and those that are close to us if we let it.  While it may be the most important issue in the world to us, it often isn't for others :)  Something we must guard against.

I'm so glad that Susan's has been such a help to both you and Spike, that's what we're here for.  Enjoy the site, explore away, and meet new friends.  We have several things to offer including Chat, the Links section, here in the Forums, and of course the Wiki, our knowledge base.

So relax enjoy your stay and take part where you can.

Steph

Tino!!!!
I feel like I know you already!  I'm sure Amy has told you about Marco and me (Pam).  She has told us a lot about you, and as a matter of fact, you'll probably see us in Tofino next April.  Looks like a beautiful place to have a wedding.  Welcome (finally) to this stie.  It has been a great resource for me as an SO (significant other) and I hope you get a lot out of it too.  The people here won't make you feel like transgender is a disease, I think you'll find quite the opposite.  Don't think the world you're living in is "dilusional".  It is your reality.  That's why I think you'll find this place a great resource for support, because if people around you have made you feel like you're dilusional, you sure won't find that here!  Most of my family has disowned me and they tell me I'm crazy, but I know they are just speaking out of ignorance.
Again, Welcome and congrats on Halo 2 (my son is really into that).

Pam  ;D

Welcome to Susan's Tino.  I've spoken to Spike (Amy), so it's good to see the other side.
