Title: Diane's intro
Post by: Diane on June 08, 2006, 09:11:05 AM
Firstly let me say i'm no wordsmith. When i was five i started dreaming i was a girl. And i used to cry myself to sleep wishing i was a girl.Oh well,my sad life continued.Had my first crush on a boy when i was nine.High school came found myself not interested in the girls starting to develop. I was more interested in their makeup skills and the clothes they were wearing. My dreams of being a girl intensified. I spent hours upon hours wondering what was going on with me.No one to talk to i surpressed my feelings. But you know? a part of her was always still there. Then i dicovered alcohol.Big mistake.Over th coarse of five years i became a chronic alcoholic, trying to drink my feelings away.Didn't work. So here i am today, iv'e started electroysis grew out my hair got both ears pierced. And my brows are arched perfectly. It's going to take some time to fully transition , but i'm comitted to it.I am Diane.

Welcome to the forum Diane!

Yes, we all seem to have indulged in various coping mechanisms, alcohol included. Heck, I've spent years of research trying to find SOME way, ANY way, *around* this problem... and came up empty (short of dubious claims of religious re-programming, but I'm not xtian, so that's not gonna work so well with me, lol).

Good to see you're back on your particular path, discovering where it may lead :)

  Well said Diane.
Welcom to the forum. This pretty much describes what I have been
                         going through.

       Again welcom. ;)

Welcome, Diane, from one of the oldest members here.  I suppressed my feelings way too long, but I'm gad for however many more years I feel right and proper.

Welcome to Susan's, Diane!

I'm glad you found us, hon', this is a very safe and supportive place, I think you'll like it here.

We're a very diverse bunch but all of us, I feel safe in saying, can relate to what you've written.  I certainly can (but with me it was other substances that I used to get away from it, many years ago).  Please feel free to use the whole site, the forums are great and the links, library and (especially ;))the Wiki are great sources of info.  And since no one else has mentioned it, the rules are easy to read and even easier to follow - and are one of the main reasons Susan's is such a great place.

I hope I'll be seeing more posts from you and am really happy to again say,

WELCOME!!!  :D

welcome to the site. There are many here that listen to feelings and writings, so should help writing and coversing with others.

Sounds like you are well on your way to going where you will feel better.
