"One example of this indirect discrimination is in the mission
statement of the athletics program. Even though one must only be
female-bodied to enter, not to graduate, the college still refers to
its students as "women." Some argue that this is because sport itself
is separated by sex. However, sport is not separated by gender. Using
words like "women" that refer to gender discriminates against those
students who are female-bodied but have transgender identities."
