Poll
Question:
How many tattoos do you have?
Option 1: 1-2
Option 2: 3-5
Option 3: 6 or more
Option 4: None, don't want any
Option 5: None, plan on getting one/some
Option 6: None, undecided on getting one
Nero gave me the idea for this post by a question that he asked me. I'm interested in what kind of tattoos you've got (how many is the poll). But please post to brag about your ink, what and where?

I've never received a tatoo for 2 reasons:
1. I never liked the masculine ones.
2. I didn't want to be ridiculed for getting a feminine one.
However, now that I'm transitioning, I may decide to get one.

I don't generally like tattoos, but I do have one: a tiny yin and yang where no one sees it unless I want them to. I got it back in 1975, so it's a bit faded and stretched now; the white side looks a bit like a melting ice cream cone!
And I have no desire to get another.

Tino,
I figured this was your idea. By the way, Pam noticed your tattoo when you move your picture to the right. I have a JOURNEY tattoo on my left pec. Pam has the same one. Our first date was to a Journey concert last October. Even without Steve Perry, they rocked. The new lead guy sounds exactly like Perry. Wierd. Actually that was the night I told Pam about my past. Living as a guy 20 years ago. So we went to the concert as friends, her only at that time knowing me as Mariah's mom. But as soon as she heard my story, things were never the same. Im not sure all of what you know, so feel free to ask.

Hi,
I have two tatoo's one I got when I was seventeen and my mom went off! Dude I mean off! LOL One house rule was no tatoo's until we moved out on our own...so when I left for two weeks I figured I was not living at home so I got one...by way of doing it myself with some buddies stoned around a coffee table ....the things we do as kids...my mom had me cover it up with a diff. tatoo, apparently I had a satanic cross on (ozzy deal) and had no idea that is what it was, to me it was just cool. I now have my initials from a stim of a rose that is on my outside bicep...
the real cool thing is my daughter when she was 17 asked me to draw her the perfect rose and stim for her tatoo, which i did at the shop and she had done for her, to match mine, her's is on her shoulder. She just added a tinkerbell tat on her back for her 21st birthday, and it really looks great..she does not have them out in the open unless she is wearing spagetti straps.
I have a second tat on my upper butt all I will say about that is doc's do on ocassion get a good laugh lol.
Peace,
Taylor
I have one tattoo. It is a body tattoo that is composed of three oriental dragons chasing each other. The first dragon starts at my right shoulder, she travels across and covers the upper portion of my back and the head ends up just under my left arm pit. The tattoo continues from there with the next dragon up and over my left shoulder and across my left breast and ends in the middle of my chest. The next dragon continues from this point surrounding my right breast downwards covering my right side and finishing off at my navel.
It took over three years to complete, and a lot of pain. But i love it. I won a first prize for it at the East coast Tattoo Show held in Bangor, Maine and the artist who designed and developed the tattoo won First overall. A credit to her skill.
But I have to ask myself at $100.00CDN per hour a lot of surgery could have been bought.
Steph
Wow Steph! That sounds amazing! You know that is a lot of dedication and there is a lot to the art so quite empressive!
Peace,
Taylor
an ahnk and the eye of Horus on right arm. tribal on left arm. zipper down my back.
O.K. Marco already spilled the beans about my Journey tattoo. Very cool. If anyone has the Infinity album, the tattoo was created from the way Journey is written on the album cover. It's outlined in brown and has yellow trails behindthe letters and the letters are filled in starting at the bottom with a deep purplish blue and fading up to a royal blue at the top. Love it!!! I'm a journey freak and a Marco freak so it serves two purposes.
I have one more. It's a cross that I drew. I took it to an artist and said I wanted it on the back of my right shoulder. It's aqua and purple and then there is an orange and yellow sunburst behind it. I love that one too!
I will be getting one more. Not quite sure of the location yet. It will either be on my lower back, my right pectoral, or under my Journey tattoo (yikes!!! that will be right on my breast...very sensitive tissue!) It will be Marco's name. Marco (I think) will be getting my name on him too. We have to wait until we are out of our financial quandry first, then we will consider getting them done.
Pam
I have one tat on my left bicep. It is a tree in the shape of a women. Kinda earthy & hints of lesbian but I love it anyways. I knew what I wanted & had it sketched by the tattoo artist. I have not regretted it. I think it is kinda sexy even if I have bare arms in a formal 'little' black dress. It looks best in a sleeveless 'tank' type shirt. Looks better if I have a bit of muscle definition (I think). I have never regretted it. I seriously doubt I would ever get another. If I was 5-10 years younger and I didn't have to be taken seriously by clients then I might go back to piercing.~Spike
I got mine in 1984, a gold hooved, green eyed pegasus on the front of my right bicep. I got it while in the navy and as a member of a biker club, but I just couldn't bring myself to have a snake, skull or hula girl inked on me, as were all the others around me. I do regret it sometimes, my arms are farely large and my tat draws more attention that I care for. If I can lose the muscle mass I will have it embellished with a midnight blue background, clouds, stars and a cresent moon.
I don't have any and don't plan on getting any (I don't do pain very well).
But I really enjoy them on other people, my ex had a few, and my buddy has his prison tattoos, he'll be out in a few months to flaunt some new ones I'm sure.
Nero
No, I don't have any tatoos....oh wait...my eyebrows are tattoed, does that count though? ???
tinkerbell
I have 4...
Right arm: Celtic Dragon armband, A howling wolf above the armband (celtic design), above the wolf there is a half sun/half moon.
Left arm: Hard to describe ... 2 Lion heads opposite facing with 1 arm/paw emerging from a an upside down celtic triangle.
The wolf was my 1st because I really love wolves, the sun/moon combo to give him something to howl at and the celtic dragon armband because I had never seen one before and I wanted an armband. Now I want a celtic armband cover up with just a traditional look. I really have no reason to keep the dragon and it means nothing to me, so not something I want to keep as is.
The lion tattoo is my fav. and the first one I got with any shading. The Lion heads represent Scotland and England, the 2 lands of my heritage. My family tree as far back as we can trace has never left mainland UK.
The other tattoos are black and the only color is the wolf eye is red. I have never liked color tattoos and never will have color. I have plans to get more, just not the inspiration yet to get one (other than maybe the cover-up armband).
tinkerbell,
i don't really know a lot about eyebrow tattooing (only that they do it), but of course it counts, that means you have 2 of them!
-tino-
I don't have any tattoos.
Yet i would like to have one of a quarter moon [the one that looks like a smile] with a red rose in the middle of it.
Ever since I was in seventh grade back in the stone age, watching mostly boys, dip a straight pin or needle into the bottle of ink and poking it into their arms making some design or other, I have never been able to imagine doing that to myself. At that time it was more of a masculine thing to do any way, like chewing tobacco, and smoking roled up cirgarettes.
I have 2 tatoos
The first one it is on my back and it's a black seahorse( it's very well done and it looks very cool)
And the second one it's one my left ear. Five little red stars... they look like some earrings! :D
I have 3 tats on my right arm......
2 on my left..
and 1 I can't tell you about.............
so what is the issue here???????????/
as an adult I can do these things.
let's talk piercings......
whoooeeee
wait til ya hear what "I" got.....................................
I have my name in Chinese on my lower back...
Just above the pant line, looks great in a bikini and with hipsters and a short top.
I was out the other day with friends and a guy actually asked me what it meant... so people must look at it.
Buffy
I have a Phoenix I want to get on my back, my two best friends designed it for me :)
It will extend from my tail bone to my neck, the wingtips bend and extending onto my shoulders.... theres allot more to it than that, but its the one and only tatoo I will ever get and Ive been planing it for a very VERY long time.....
I think tatoos are really cool looking, but I really have no desire to get one myself. I like keeping my body looking natural without feeling like I need to add body art to it. I have thought about getting some woman piercings on my ears and my belly button though so I can wear more jewelry.

I think the same way as you do, Shannon. However, lately, I plan to get my eyebrows retattooed (is this a word, BTW?); the ink has faded quite a bit, and considering the fact that I'm almost blind, I need to see where my eyes are on my face everytime I apply makeup in the morning. ;D

I'm jumping around the discussion boards so here goes..ummmm
7 other than the big one accross my upper butt-waistline the rest would not cover the shadow of a canteloupe added together.
one on each ankle- 1 represents my family blood line flag-nationality, the other is a twin of a heart with wings (drawn at the studio-an original) i got with my best buddy's wife together (bummer they divorced a few years back-guess we could for certain ID each other in a crowd or twins contest)
2 are centered on my front pelvic region one a pink heart the other the transgendered symbol (not even sure why i did that maybe God will recognize it when i die and go to heaven)
On my chest a baby dragon - is said to protect your heart
on bum a little heart (that was my first-girlfriend hated it at the time) and largest is a two word design in a foreign language with a heart!
All have one character they can be hidden with clothing as to allow for my job and such!
That's it, ponder another but there's no rush....
I have one on my right shoulder.....it's a bulls skull with feathers hanging from one of the horns. I don't regret doing it because honestly I never thought for a second I would ever make it as far as I have so far in transition. The tattoo was extremely well done and except for some color fading it looks good. The artist chose to do it all with a single needle because he said "when everyone else's tats are fuzzy looking yours will still look sharp" and he was right.
I imagine that I will have it removed one day simply because it's too much of a reminder of my past. I do want to get a small teddy bear that looks like my beloved H.B. (my most favoritist teddy bear) and a pink butterfly on the back of my shoulder. I also want an ankle bracelet of blue dolphins around my right ankle someday.
It's just not something I would consider. I have admired some body art and I have disdain for much of it when done poorly. I can't help but think that someday I'd get sick of anything that I would choose and want to have it removed. I have thought about getting my blood type tatooed in a conspicuous place. It is a fleeting thought.
Did anyone ever see that film called Tatoo with Lauren Hutton? Some guy kidnapped her. Every time she woke up, she'd have more body art done on her. It was striking in design and color but it terrified me. I saw it when I was fairly young... so perhaps that might be my hang up about it.

I think the place for this is on the inside of the left arm. It's a pretty standard thing from what I understand.

Mine isn't particularly masculine but I really really wanted it. It's an outline of a black dove holding an olive branch in its beak (the leaves are green). It's located on the inside of my wrist, just barely on my palm.
