my brother and i have bought mother a few gifts and a card to show her how much she means to us, and then we are taking her for breakfast and then just spending the whole day with her. she's recovering from major surgery so we can't really take her clubbing. ha ha.
what about you?
Probably run around in a panic at the last minute, looking for a gift, then realize I've forgotten to buy a card, and 7-11 is the only thing open. Race out there, find nothing appropriate but a blank card.
Then I'll take her out to dinner.
That's the plan anyway ;)

Mother's Day is the hardest day of the year for me, as my mother passed away when I was 8 yrs old. And as I get older, the heartache gets worse, I miss her and will be happy the day I reunite with her.
:'(
But on Mother's Day I will remember what a beautiful mother she was, probably make a toast to her name and have a little cry. I envy those who have their mothers, its hard not having one.
I walk up to her grave and leave flowers, and remember how lucky I was to have her when I did.
Not a bleedin' thing unless you count feeling sorry for myself.
I'm sending a Mother's Day card to my Mom thanking her for being my Mom, basically. I'm also getting 3 hours of electrolysis :)
Well, we already have reservations for Tony Roma's. I made them two months ago because I know how difficult it can get to get any, especially during Mother's day. Besides it is not only my family this year but his as well, so everyone has to be there, just like a family should be.

We had Mother's Day in March.
I made my mum a mixtape (on cd) of songs that made me think of her - and a few to make her laugh as well.
(Like the version of Le Chic's Freak - one of her favourite songs - done on ukulele).

My Mom is in her 80's lives 1000 miles away and does not remember her children's names. I am going to a crafts show on the square.
i dont believe in commercial born holidays. But I think I'll do something nice. Like goto bed early and to give her more sleep time (shes a super light sleeper)
I sent my mom a card and will call her. My dad moved my mom 400 miles away to Florida in May of 2007. I plan on surprising her for her birthday in June. My youngest daughter might join me for the drive. I will make a great meal on wheels and pack the dinner in the car, drive down, call them when I am 50 miles from their house that I will serve them dinner, arrive and have an argument with my dad, sleep the night at their home, and turn around and drive back to Atlanta the next morning.
For Mother's Day I invited the 300 pound, 35 year old, 6'3", Black, Jehovah Witness that would comment on my hair looking like the '70's to dinner. Of course he accepted since he knows I am a good cook. I will make New York strips for dinner. We both happen to be born in the Bronx. "Heygetyacobeeaher!" That is Yankee Stadium for "Hey get your cold beer here!"
I hope all have a Happy Mother's Day!
In my family we celebrate Mother's day twice in May :). The original French holiday to honour all the mums Fête des Mères is on May 25, but since my mum's from Uruguay....Uruguay and many other foreign countries celebrate Mother's day on the same day as Americans do... we celebrate it on the second Sunday of May too. . BTW Happy Mother's day to all the mums!!
My mom was going to be out of town for a bowling tournament again. So, I sent her a card.
If I'd been thinking, I would have taken the day off from work to spend with my wife. But, I screwed the pooch. I'm probably going to offer her another Mother's Day at a date of her choosing.
My mother has been gone for seven years now. My children are no longer with me. They haven't called; I didn't expect them to. I thought briefly about staying home from church today, but decided to go anyway. They gave me a red carnation for being a mother. Then I decided to take myself out to lunch since noone else was going to. After that looked at some shoes, bought some socks and pany hose, went to the drug store and the grocery store, and came home.
It's already past midnight here in Germany. It's Monday!
We had a get-together reunion with my relatives. It was quite a marvelous event. Seeing my mum opening her gifts made me happy. I'm her only child & sometimes I'm far away and can't be with her on her special day. This year my work schedule wasn't loaded & I was able to be a good daughter.
I made dinner for my mother, sister, nephew & his girlfriend.
Baked pasta with meatballs, sweet sausage, brocolli & greenbeans.

My Mom passed away about 16 years ago. So for me, I walked with a friend, went for a motorcycle ride and then went for a bicycle ride, read a bit and checked susans. A quiet day for this girl.
