I'm in Scottsdale. Tomorrow morning I'm going to the Greenbaum Surgery Center. Dr. Toby Meltzer will perform a vaginal deepening on me. If there's enough time, he'll also perform an optional labiaplasty. Basically, I'm charged for a minimum of 4-1/2 hours of operating theater time, so if the deepening operation is over in 2-1/2, he'll gladly spend the balance of the time on any other work I might need.
How did I get here? First, read Shortsheeted SRS (https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,32535.msg226280.html#msg226280) to find out what went wrong with my SRS that I'd need a re-do.
Dr. Meltzer went over the procedure one more time. I asked him about his plan to cut into my prostate, and would it hurt it? He said the prostate is like an onion in that it has layers, and once he finds a layer, he can 'peel' it to get to the back. And it's a lot safer to cut into the prostate than it is to cut into the rectum, plus the prostate will handle the traumatization a lot better.
From the back of the prostate on, dissection may either be easy or it may be hard, but we won't know until we get there. 'Peeling' the prostate should be good for 2 inches, and there should be 1 to 3 inches along the bladder, depending on my anatomy.
Linda Takata gave me my support bag with the supplies I'll need and the printed instructions to go with them. Two plastic squeeze bottles, Bacitracin ointment, soap, douche kit, bowel prep, and some Arnica Montana, or Wolf's Bane. It's a homeopathic that is proven to reduce bruising and swelling. Maybe it'll keep the ghost of Bela Lugosi away as well.
Robin took me by the drive-in window of the nearby Walgreens to drop off my scripts, then dropped me off at my hotel. Time to stock up... I walked the 1-1/2 blocks south along Scottsdale Road to Albertsons. Carrying the swag back was a pain. Later, I went over to Walgreens for the meds, and to pick up a few other items.
About a half hour ago I finished my bottle of Lemony Flavor Citroma, "The Sparkling Laxative" After midnight, nothing except the prep antibiotic on a small sip of water, and surgery is around noon.
I should be 'in hospital' for two days, then back here.
I have my fingers crossed...
