"WASHINGTON, D.C., May 28, 2008 – Entering foster care is a scary experience for any child; however, for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth, it is an even more difficult experience with additional emotional risks involved. LGBTQ youth are at higher risk than other youth for suicide, substance abuse, health issues and harassment in foster care and school."
