I went out today in my baggy shorts, skate shoes, tee shirt, new buzz cut, and went into a restaurant to order takeout (cuz I forgot my cell phone to call ahead, doh!)
And she asked for my name and I said Jay. A first!!
First time other than therapy and other transfolk. And I didn't care if they thought it was Jaye, but she wrote Jay on the sheet.
;D
Oh, and I'm gray now. My stylist buzzed off most of what remained of my hair color. Add in my new glasses (one week!) and I should look a bit more masculine.

That's great Jay! :)
The first time can be the hardest but I can see you're a very gutsy, upbeat guy and will be a success in all you do. :)
Way to go, nothing says male like a haircut that says "I don't care about hair." Buzzcuts rock.
Congratulations on your first.....this one you will always remember...it does gets easier from here. :)

Yes, but even if I'm uncomfortable a bit being a non-passing male, that discomfort is minimal compared to what I felt trying to pretend I was female. Standing in a crowded restaurant waiting for an order would have been torture. Not this time.
Now, it will be a miracle if I correct pronouns or use the urinal...
Stay tuned for Life's Finest Moments with Jay. LOL
Jay
Yay, well done Jay!!! :)
And in no time at all it won't feel uncomfortable one bit, just natural. :)
Congrats! I bet it felt great!
Most excellent Jay.
Now we need a pic of the buzz. :icon_wink:
Love,
Janet
