After dropping Amy off at work this morning I had to go to an auto store to pick up transmission fluid and a funnel (since somebody stole everything out of the back of our truck a few days ago). I walk into the store and usually don't get offered any help or even really looked at, as it is with many customers that go in there. As soon as I walk in a girl runs over to me and says "excuse me sir, could I help you". I replied with "no I know what I'm getting but thanks." She insisted on helping me find it and then immediately noticed the ring on my wedding finger. [Although we're not officially married yet, we are common law and I wear a wedding band to ward off all those women ;)]. She said "are you freaking kidding me? you're married? no way, how old are you". "20, and yes I'm married" "when?" at this point she was starting to freak me out a little so I lied and said "3 months ago" which I guess is kind of true, that's when we became common law... ha ha, loop hole! The worker ran over to the other 3 girls that were working the tills (ironically all women there today) and says, "this guy is married, sucks eh?" and all of her co-workers are just staring at me... LIKE MEAT!! What I found really bizzare is that this one woman who has worked there for quite a while was on the till yet the woman helping me was walking her through all of the steps (slowly but surely) to ring my stuff up!!! Women are very sneaky and work in packs! Just before I left the store she says "make sure you don't go getting divorced anytime soon *wink*". I got the hell out of there after I said "don't worry about it, that won't be happening in this lifetime".
I couldn't help but feel a little bit flattered because that kind of stuff just doesn't usually happen to me... but a little awkward and flustered (if you will) around the whole event. I kind of know what women feel like now except they usually get that kind of stuff from men quite frequently! Has anyone else that has begun HRT noticed an increase in attention from men or women? This has happend 3 times this week (once while I was driving, once at a restaurant and today at the auto store) and I think it has to do with confidence. Obviously the T hasn't had any effect on my face yet, but for some reason I've been getting attention from women that I'm not used to! It's usually the "is that a man or woman?" look... or maybe I was just paranoid.
I would really like to know if anyone else has experienced anything like this!

For myself...
I have noticed an increase in attention from the men and I've also taken advantage of them as well. I never seem to have a problem with men asking me to dance, and I've even pulled the "little miss innocent routine" several times at service centres and the like, to get stuff done. There are a couple of mechanics at the dealership where I get my truck serviced that are kinda sweet on me and while I've shamelessly taken advantage of them as well, it is very flattering when they fall over themselves to help. Peter is my favorite :)
Personally I like it when men openly flirt with me, I don't know maybe it's sort of a validation thing, maybe not, but I really don't care as either way I find it very nice.

Oh my goodness Melissa, everything went so well until day 10. I was pretty ugly & nasty, same with day 11. I couldnt stand myself but didnt want to smoke. I hated it but smoking made the beast (not the sexy one) go away. My doctor said not to try quiting until I am done my acne meds I just started. I think the meds mess with hormones etc. FYI the acne is soooo much better & it helps my self esteem quite a bit. I have been waiting for so may years to be allowed to have this med.

I work construction, one of the last macho bastions left. Most of the guys are homophobes and I'd say all are TGphobes. This is the first job I've been on where hormones are fully in my system. I have never been treated so well! At first I just thought it was nice but later I started to notice I was getting this treatment from guys who are often grumpy. I'll see a guy with a scowl on his face and as soon as he sees me he perks up and gets this big smile on my face.
I doubt anyone knows I'm transitioning, it's possible some might wonder why I have boobs and long hair. But the way I'm treated by most guys is the way you usually see a guy treat a girl. I've never been treated like this before. There's definitely something going on!

Thanks for asking how I'm doing. I'm sorry I haven't been on here until today. I've been going through a lot of rough stuff (especially with the parents) and haven't been on the computer since I don't know when. HRT is going well, definately deeper voice, skin thicker and amazingly stubble (midly visable) is apperearing on lip, chin, jawline, sideburns... pretty much everywhere :o. Considerably thicker and darker. Surprised at quick results.
I'm going to try to pop in an out of Susans more regularily but have been really emotionally drained and have become quite "independant" (also known as a hobbit).
Hope you're all doing really well and look forward to hearing from you.
