The Daily Star has apologised to Peaches Geldof for claiming that her entry on Wikipedia had been edited to say she was a transsexual.
The original 28 March article, headlined: "I'm not a ->-bleeped-<- (and I'm certainly not hung like a donkey) says Peaches," went on to say that Geldof, upon hearing about the claims on the popular online encyclopaedia, sent messages to her friends to deny the accusation.
In its apology, the Star said: "We now accept that there was neither any such entry on Wikipedia, and nor was there any of the hysterical reaction by Peaches to the entry as described in the article. We apologise to Peaches for any distress that the article caused."
Which mentally deficient part of a journalist's brain thinks "hey, this'll be a good idea"? They should rename that paper the Daily Scar, it has about as much appeal.
It baffles the mind that they would go beyond embellishing a story and venture into the realms of just making stuff up. I think they have a grudge against Peaches.
