In my haulting efforts to learn a bit more of my grandparents' mother tongue, I have been studying Danish in my spare time. I have been amazed to find that the language has a very definite binary gender structure, but not the same kind as English. In Danish there are two genders: Common and Neuter. That's right, their gender binary is not Male/Female. It's Yes/No.
