I'm scared.

For the first time in thirteen years as a parent, I am actually scared.

When my kids were little, I knew they were safe. No one hurts little babies and they were, of course, particularly cute so I had no worries. I also experienced the most acceptance as a lesbian I'd ever had. With my kids at my side, even if they thought I was the 'dad,' people whom I had never before any conversation with would chat away about the baby.
