So like in a perfect society where nobody cared what you looked like at birth or childhood etc, and everybody treated you as the gender you presented as.

Well now I guess I am the first other than you, Jenny.  In a perfect world where nobody cared what you looked like at birth or childhood etc, and everybody treated you as the gender you presented as.   I would still try to 'pass', but I think that most women think about their looks.  I would love to always be a 'lady' and look sexy.  More for me than for anyone else.  Well except maybe for guys.  >:D ;D

In a perfect world I would have been a Kennedy girl or Paris Hilton.

Isn't that "passing"?

To a point, but i'm not sure how objective I can be since I do 'pass'. Everyone cares about their looks though, so I think being able to fit in as a normal girl would still be important to me. Even if noone really cared if I did or didn't.

not passing would still greatly bother me. It's not really a "omg society will reject me" thing as much as it is a "i look like a man and i hate it" sort of thing.

It would still be important to me, but not the end all.

As it is, pre-everything, many people think I am male. In the past, this irritated me. Not because I had something against males, but because it was just inconvenient. I had to tell them 'no, I am a girl' to get in the proper bathroom, or to get in the correct dressing room.
So, when I present as female, which I biologically am, I often don't pass. Such is life. It never was insulting to me, not even when I had no idea I might be transsexual. (Now I know why I was never insulted ;) ).

But when I present as male, I'd like to be seen as male. Why? I think most of it is that I have put time and effort in looking male. I think, that somewhere in the recesses of my mind, I feel it is inconsiderate of that time and effort to think of me as female.
On the other hand I have had ample experience with being thought of as the other gender, so I hope I would just shrug it off, as I did in the past.

What i mean is how would you feel if you didn't pass, but in this perfect society nobody cared about that and still treated you as your true gender

In a truly perfect society people would be judged not by gender but by their character, skills, and output.  Which would be a lot like hell for most people.

it wouldnt be AS important to me.  id still have short hair and dress in guys clothes because thats what i like.  but id walk around braless since its way more comfortable than binding.  lol  but even though people would still think of me as completely male, id want my body to be different anyways.  no matter what society sees me as, i want to fix my body.

Well she is rich enough to hire people to get rid of people like you, which is a huge bonus in my life, I have to depend on security guards I like to do that.  Just kidding not really, I do have security people toss folks I don't like

And she is an heiress, to the max.  And not as dumb as she comes off (most of the time).

She lost the bulk of her inheritance, ol' grandpa got angry with her.

Having security would be nice, but I can think of many other people I would rather be or emulate than her.

That's why I added Kennedy girl, Caroline might be nice, but I've been around people with F U money, and it might be nice for a while.  If nothing else, it buys a lot of personal space if you want it.
