Title: Question for pre-transitioners
Post by: findingreason on August 14, 2008, 02:18:29 PM
I read somewhere that the male body usually has a higher level of muscle tension than the female body, due to T. I have always felt tense (maybe because I was always a nervous person), but no matter what I do, I can almost never achieve muscle relaxation. I have done meditation, breathing techniques, etc. Almost nothing works. It like the tension never goes away. Am I crazy, or do other MtFs have the same issue?

A good massage feels like heaven on earth and does wonders to relax your muscles.  I think I was born with knots in some of muscles because they're always so tense and nothing I tried doing myself helped.  My friend, however, can give some of the best massages ever, and those relieve the tension like no other.  If you're not lucky enough to have a friend with that gift, go out and get a professional massage.  I'll bet its worth the cost.

Get started on E and you'll have a lot less muscle to get tense! It would certainly feel like it was less tension even if percentage-wise the overall tension was the same. :)

I agree with Natalie. Massages do wonders. Also, soaking in a jacuzzi is another way I use to relax. Can't go wrong with either of those.
