Personal: Meet Political

I'm deeply disturbed by the way hatred against gay, lesbian, and transgendered people is enthusiastically embraced within so many religious denominations.

I would very much like to feel that everybody's religion is strictly their own business. But when their religion is telling them that it's okay to revile and discriminate against me and people like me, they're making it my business.

I can understand what she wants, maybe even why she'd want it. But, her logic is flawed, badly. Her ideology, alledgedly for freedom and dignity, is just as simple-minded and intrusive toward others as she claims religions are.

A case of becoming what you hate in order to fight what you hate.

I have a hard time telling any difference between her autocracy and, say, the Pope's.

He's cool
He's the man
He's the Pope
From the Vatican..

I've been in two places and seen da pope.  Its very surreal to see the pope in like the middle of modern America to be sure.  Jetting in (the pope, he has his own jet, like how cool is that) and chopper to fly all over Iowa, he's got this way cool custom car, driving up Gerry Street in SF, with the fast food, paint and liquor stores in the background. And the sight of the pope, in those like what 13th Century notion of fashion with all this ultra modern stuff around him, its a special statement.
