Sex-change operations can now be made for free in Brazil, courtesy of the Brazilian federal government SUS (Unified Health System). The decision that these operations should be done for free was taken a year ago by a Federal judge. The government never appealed the decision despite protests by religious groups.
There will be a flood of people moving to Brazil. I wonder if the surgeries are available to others. The price is obtainable for most, but what are the results?

I'd read the comments before making any wondrous statements about Brasil and "the way of things" there.
And Janet's question is one everyone who's thinking seriously about it should also consider and research.
No, I'm sure they are at least as sanitary as USA clinics and hospitals are, perhaps moreso, as the best place to get an infection in USA is during a hospital stay. But those other results.
