Okay, I swear I'm not sex obsessed, considering my recent posts.. but I had to ask this >:D
You know, I always heard/read that you don't really get self-lube -- or if you do, it can take a long time before you get any and there's hardly any.
In my case, I find when I'm turned on there's a lot. I don't even use lube when I'm turned on because I've got plenty going around (more than a few of my ex gf's, to be honest). Then, when I orgasm, i just gush out with a tons more (I usually have to go clean off when I'm done as there's a lot of, er, juice... and no, it's not pee, it's clear, sticky, tastes like it should...)
So, where is it coming from?
Okay, I know that it's some kind of gland (bulbourethral gland / Cowper's gland) somewhere that is a reminate of the boy parts. But I thought went with with the poison factories? Or would be damaged when playing with the urethra or creating the neo-vagina? I can understand it causing the gushing part, but is it producing while I'm turned on as well... or are the vaginal walls producing something, too. They walls inside seem to always be wet, and they don't seem to dry out with action.
I was just wondering. I kinda have an idea... although I'll have to say the amount of self-lube has me surprised.
For the first 5 to 10 years after SRS, lubrication was never a problem. As I got older, "I needed help". The lubrication would still come but it took longer and there wasn't as much. Now, after 34 years, lubrication is slow (though still abundant right before orgasm). All in all, from what I hear from my women friends, this is all pretty normal.
You know, I am really cheered up reading this thread. I am possibly 2 years away from SRS and have been worried about natural lubrication and whether a man would notice anything different from Natal females down there. :-\
yes i must admit this is a kind of cheery post to me too,
now if only gothique11 would stop making the rest of us insanely jealous of her V while we wait to get ours:P
Yes, prior to SRS, I had also heard all this "manure" from people. "Post-ops don't self-lubricate, you need to have had the sigmoid vaginoplasty for that" ::) Well, sorry but that is not the case.

Of course not. You are just asking the right questions, questions that some of us are just a wee bit shy to ask about ;)

Before transitioning, I heard a lot of "manure" about different things. It never turned out to be true.

I would agree. Pre-transition, I was scared witless about all sorts of things, mostly about reactions from persons unknown to me. Reality is that for me, no-one cares. I work hard not to stand out and attract unwelcome attention and I see a few other transfolk locally perhaps missing the point and getting abused and ridiculed as a consequence.
As for the 'manure' that some of us relate, I have yet to become aquainted with it. Yes, I get a hard time from some people, mainly the younger members of the community but I never let it get me down. The important thing for me here in relation to this thread is that I/WE get accurate and honest information about the consequences of transition, surgery, legal niceties etc....it may allow us all to get a peaceful night's sleep sometimes :)
All I have to say is that what you're experiencing is what is typical for a female. I know. I hate the fact that things are wet even if I'm completely turned off. I have to always wear some sort of panty liner so my underwear doesn't get moist. Very uncool.
Last time I wore boxers, vagina snot ran down my leg. D:< I won't be wearing them again until T. I wear briefs for now (finally got "real" boy's briefs).

Are you going to tell them the rest Elwood? ;)
In the first year after SRS I worked in a small office by myself. My office opened into a space where two young service technicians worked (in their 20's). It was summer time so I was wearing a short skirt and some kind of top and I had a leather covered stool to sit on.
It was Monday morning, VERY quite in the office, and I guess the boys forgot I was just around the corner because they started talking about how they pleasure their wives. I wasn't consciously listening - I was doing paperwork - but I guess my subconscious was taking in the conversation. After an hour or so, when I went to get up from my stool, there was this GOD-AWFUL
SLURRRP! :o The stool was SOAKED, my dress was SOAKED, the boys knew I was there and must have been listening and they KNEW how it effected me. I have never been so embarrassed in my life! Neither they nor I ever mentioned the incident again ;D

LOL Yeah, I sometimes get wet randomly which gets annoying. And when I'm thinking of certain things. :P

Yeah, I keep finding that's the case. I was told a lot that self-lube isn't possible, and if there is any there's hardly any at all, etc, etc, etc. Same thing with a g-spot (which is there), and a few other things that I was told or thought and found out was untrue.
I find that I am able to get moist and self lube when I am aroused as well.
This most likely is due to two factors.
1. The Cowpers gland, which is part of the prostate gland, and is not
removed during GRS, continues to secrete fluids, and aids in vaginal
lubrication of the post op.

2. Also I utilize Premarin cream in my vagina, as an Estrogen supplement
thus my vagina tends to be fairly moist.

Geh I hate lubricating. Tends to happen a lot for no reason at all. Will it stop when on T I wonder? or am I going be stuck with being wet between legs all time and unable to wear stuff way would like to. sighs
I think this is an entirely different topic/question that perhaps should be asked under the FTM forums since this thread is addressed to
post-op transsexual women!tink :icon_chick:
Sorry removed. Didn't know it was only for post op women. Maybe should label it next time to indicate that

I am sorry, and whilst I respect your status as moderator without question, I believe Aiden may have helped me and others with this matter and made a very relevent contribution to this subject, and I care not what area of this board it may reside. I would never have entered the F to M domain to find out this information Tink so please give us all a chance :(.
Whilst my passions have been aroused, may I ask any medically qualified persons here, be it general, pathology or anatomy please tell us if the same glands exist in males and females, by whatever latin or technical name, and exist in order to provide lubrication for sexual purposes? My pre-existing medical condition may mean hormone therapy may be cut short or even bypassed in favour of an early SRS operation and I shall need to be armed with the best information if I have to see the surgeon any time soon. Like all patients facing this operation, I want the best bits retained and the chaff disposed of because I want to be as much a woman as possible given my age etc.... :embarrassed:
While I respect your opinion, Jennifer, I am not sure if this thread is the appropriate place to discuss such matters since it is posted under
Post-operative life. Perhaps starting a new thread and addressing your questions there would be more helpful? Just a thought!

You have read my post and responded and for that I thank you. My views stand and your comments are duly noted with utmost respect. :)
This is the first time I've been been shut out of wondering about something about post op in the post op area, and why is Elwood allowed to comment in here and I'm not?
Maybe I'm just not wanted around here at all. I've never cared about rep, but when you look one day and it's blindly obvious that everyone else is respected more makes me wonder what I've done wrong or if my presence here is even wanted.

Don't take it personal, man. Part of our job as mods is to ensure things don't go off topic and such. So generally if you have a question unrelated to the topic, you're encouraged to start a new one, partly out of respect to the OP and partly because you're more likely to get better replies to your questions in it's own separate topic.
There's no favoritism here or anything. And the rep system just means your post caught someone's eye and they thought it was particularly enlightening or otherwise helpful. It's not a popularity contest. You are very much wanted here. :)

Well feeling like I'm not writing anything helpful doesn't really make me feel better. lol
But am sorry for intruding. I didn't even realize this was a post-op area when posted that. I tend to open everything want to read up before going down the line and don;t always know what area their in
Many people may have found posts helpful but just didn't think to give a thumbs up.
yeh guess true. Afterall I myself forget it's there lol
Part of me wants to avoid posting this because I like to allow for "magic", sometimes leaving space for miracles is a good idea and in my own experience there were times in my life when I needed to believe certain things and I would still like to believe.
But anyway... Here is my experience.
After SRS it seemed like I was self-lubricating but what appeared to be self-lubrication was actually K-Y (or similar) lube from dilating, etc.
The gland that produced lube before SRS continues to produce lube after SRS. The problem is that the lube occurs at the urethra. Sometimes during "sex" I must have my partner completely pull out in order to make good use of the lube that is originating at the urethral opening. There have been times when things were hot&heavy and it seemed like I was actually lubricating from inside the vagina. I have no idea. But I do know that there were times in the past when I didn't dilate with lube, etc., and my vagina was completely dry inside, chalky and slightly wet but no slickness, no lube whatsoever.
I am disappointed but it isn't that big a deal anymore. Someone I have always been female so lubrication doesn't make or break who or what I am. If an affordable treatment existed to fix things I would absolutely do it..
Oh... And I have been with a lot of guys who didn't know that I transitioned though rumors were always going around that I had. I had more than a few people comment that my vagina didn't have a strong odor like other women. Not sure if that was because of the rumors or simply the case, probably a combination of the two. Personally I don't think my vagina smells like other women's vaginae. Hold on, going to double check... I don't know.. O_o Maybe it does. When I was constantly sexually active I was constantly using a vaginal syringe to put 1 CC of lube inside of myself to ensure I was wet on demand. I would dose myself before a date and sometimes dose myself in the restaurant bathroom before heading to the hotel. Think work here.
hi gothique11
im very happy for u, i guess getting wet must b very exciting :P
who was ur srs surgeon btw?
Cowpers Gland lube the end of penis via urethra so when the urethra is cut off and rrepositioned inside the vagina it should still produce natural lube.
hard to know if estrogen stops the glands working as them being tuned to male setting?
it wouldbe a courtesy to a partner to have aquick wash/wipe and apply a little lube if sex is on th emenu.
anyone tried strawberry flavoured lubes?
seem to remember an angry article in a magazine from a guy upset to see billboards for strawberry lube in his town. Can't remember what part of USA he was in though.
Wait, what? Is the Cowper's gland moved to the vagina, or is does it still work via the urethra? The latter would make more sense as the corresponding glands exit within the vulva, next to the vagina, in natal women.
glands are tucked up inside and use same tube as pee so they should still lube during arousal if cut short but question is: does estrogen shut them down?
I notice - hard to ignore actually! :D - that after about 6 months post-op sometimes watching romantic stuff on telly I get a nice twinge between my legs and I get wet.
I get EXTREMELY wet when turned on. EXTREMELY, BUT, I dont chance it. I have ejaculated 41 times before and the man said the taste was nothing like he had eva tasted before and that is the concensus of most of my partners. They get IMMEDIATELY hooked. They tell me that most women are salty but they said MINE was sweet with a touch of salt like kettle korn. Now I was told prior to that there would be NO secretion AT ALL. Well I guess they have to tell people that because maybe my case is rare but 6wks later i explored my body and had my FIRST ORGASM of my LIFE. i was a trans that DID use my part and never let a man see it so when i had the orgasm, I lost my mind, took pictures and sent the immediately to dr bowers and she congratulated me.
I did it all day just to see and the SAME result. So I dont know, I dont have the issues that a lot of people have, I have 7 inches, i have stretched to accommodate a man the size of a coke bottle and i am EXTREMELY wet.

Often when a guy gets excited he'll leak a little bit of clear lube long before orgasm and that's what it tastes like.
I produce some lube during decent foreplay, enough for my g/f to do me with 2 fingers. I have some doubt that it would alone be enough for penetration by a male.
At climax, I do release quite a bit more and yes, it tastes as above.
