The Capital District's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community lost a good friend two weeks ago. Cecelia Garfinkel succumbed to her battle with cancer.
Ceil's name was not a household one within the LGBT community here in Albany, NY. But for those parents who struggled with reconciling their love for their children with their confusion over their progeny's sexuality, Ceil always had a comforting hand and a calming voice coupled with a knowing way.
