Title: kind of a dumb question about dilation
Post by: Fran on September 02, 2008, 05:30:18 PM
ok so my doctor gave me a brochure for dilators, and the largest one they have has a circumference of around 4.5 inches. The problem is, that seems like it's really small. According to wikipedia the average penis circumference is around 5 inches.

Does that mean I won't be able to ever have sex?

Well, I'm not post-op, I'm Ftm but I can answer this.
I'm built small down there too but can still accomodate most men. The vagina is pretty resilient and will stretch with practice. (if you're regularly sexually active, it will become easier, the ride smoother)
There are of course men you will never be able to accomodate, whom with you're literally sexually incompatible. A good rule of thumb is to check his crotch area before you let 'it' near you. Too thick or too long - don't let the door hit him on the way out.

Oh, thank you! It's a question that's really been nagging at me lately

True Nero, but the female vagina is naturally way, way more stretchy than a neo-vagina (after all its designed to give birth to a baby ...  :o  ... !).  And most post-op M2Fs have their main problem with the tightness of the entrance through the pelvic wall / muscle ... it all seems more stretchy when you're inside.

But remember dilators are really hard and unyeilding.  The "natural item" squeezes and compresses, just like a rubber sex toy (try one of those sometime Fran as they are often 2" diameter - over 6" circumference).

And the difference between the standard large dilator at 4.5" circumference, and the average 5" guy is only 1/8" inch in diameter !

And if average is 5" as self-reported by the "average" guy I guess you can easily deduct an inch ...  ;D ...

From the other end of the deal you would not want to be too loose either or your partner would not get much pleasure. The reserve stretchyness you will have combined with, as laura said, the members ability to compress will mean everything will work as it should.

Nero you are a trip. I love your responces!

Fran I found that after about 2 months I started to use a real like dildo that was designed for GG's. It was the best thing I ever did. I did use the dialators from the doc as well but I did use the toy every chance I got.

OMG I stay away from guys with big units too. I do check them out. I once had a guy pre SRS that wanted me and when he droped his pants his unit was hanging below his boxers. Gosh all mighty I said, I can't take that and told him to hit the road.

Find a normal kind of guy and you will be just fine.
