Sunday night ...
Fannie and Freddie, a "bi-gender" mess — a long time coming and a longer time payin' ... brought to us, "bipartisanly," of course.
I just can't focus on one candidate's putative primacy on gay and transgender issues when both parties are and have been (and will be) parties to running the country fiscally, monetarily, militarily and every other which way into the ground ... and I'm getting it you know where.
Whatever happened to all the Republican BS about limited government? With the takeover of Fannie & Freddie, it's like the elephants aren't even trying to hide their fascism anymore. Unless... maybe those anti-assets, when brought into collision with the state's assets, results in an asset/anti-asset annhilation, thus reducing the size of government?
... or maybe just the size of our wallets. >:(

As a political "conservative", I wish I could just blame King George for everything bad and have it at that. But the real answer as to
when the monster of big government hatched out of it's shell, is with Regan. And to be realistic, well before that admin, but it was during his era when the fed gov. started growing exponentially.

I wish :'(

You'd better believe it :icon_sad:
Yeah, I used to think, "Oh, the Bush crew is just a bunch of stupid, greedy neocons. They're not real conservatives." I've now accepted that they are true conservatives - the limited government, non-interventionist bit has been a sham for decades. I see nothing, absolutely NOTHING, in the Republican party to challenge that. In fact, Reagan was the fist Republican to effectively harness the power of the Religious Right.
Barry Goldwater is spinning in his grave so fast that we could solve the energy crisis by sticking him into a turbine.
