Director GUS VAN SANT will be honoured at New York's forthcoming Gotham Film Festival.
Tribute will be paid to Van Sant, along with Penelope Cruz, at the November/December (08) event, where the filmmaker's new movie Milk will be premiered.
Milk stars Sean Penn as pioneering gay politician Harvey Milk.
