I'd like to ask the members when and if there was a time that their depression and suicidal thoughts stopped? Was there a specific change or catalyst?
What do you mean by that?
Are you desiring suicide?
Please explain

Not right now but it was a really rough week last week before I saw my psychiatrist and gender therapist and I' wondering if this roller coaster ever goes away,
Thank you for interest in my well being.
Mine stopped gradually as my transition progressed.
The worst I ever got was when I began to plan how I would do it. I think the only thing that stopped me from trying was that I didn't want to devestate my spouse.
Life is actually pretty good right now although it wasn't for many instances in the past few years. The problem with depression is that it clouds the thinking, at least mine did, it made me think there's no hope - a false belief if ever there was one.
Hang in there, KylieLuv!

Well, I have been on that roller coaster ride for a couple of years and I am still on it. The only difference is that the rides are less frequent than they used to be, but they can be pretty intense when they do occur. I think that after my name change is complete that will stop the ride pretty much. BUT if it starts up again all I will need to do is whip out my new ID and that should take care of things.

I think it depends totally on what is driving one to the brink in the first place. I think the best we can do is remove as many triggers as possible.
