Okay gang, let's play a game...now before we begin, I have to tell you that my magic number is the number FIVE. Why? because regardless of the numbers you think, the numbers you add or substract, your result will always be FIVE. Okay let's start:
1) Think of a number, any number... (let's say..the number three
2) Multiply that number by two..... (your result should be six now
3) Add TEN (10) to this result (six + ten = your result should be sixteen
4) Divide this result by two...( 16 divided by 2 = eight)
5) Substract the number you originally thought from this total. (see #1, you originally thought the number three.
eight - three = FIVE (my magic number)
You can try the same procedure with a completely different number, but your end result will always be FIVE because this is my lucky number and you've been cursed by it.... >:D

Mathmatically, it's so obvious. ;D
n = (x*2+10)/2-x
n = (2x+10)/2-x
n = (x+5) - x
n = 5
...but then again, that's the skeptic in me talking. Sorry for ruining the joke. :-\

Okay, this is way over my head here, ladies. :D
Nero mathematically challenged
lol indeed, I've tryed with number 7 and at the end I get number 5 :D :D

Well, in my equation with my algebraic approach, I just used 'x' and still came out with 5. The reason is, because you are really only dividing 10 by 2 and coming out with 5.

I don't think you've ruined the joke; you have simply explained it...
