I just discovered that my building at school has four gender-neutral single-stall bathrooms on the upper floors, in the tower.
All I have to do is walk down a hallway and go up two floors to get to one.
Really? Cool!!! I can only think of one place near me with gender neutral toilets.
Our LGBT center on campus has a list of all of the single-stall toilets and all of the unisex bathrooms. How cool is that? There are very few gender-neutral bathrooms--only two buildings are well supplied. With the exception of the new building, I'm in the best building on campus!!!
I wish everyone were so lucky.
There are often such bathrooms in new buildings, owing more to the ADA Act then anysort of ->-bleeped-<- awareness, but take what you can get.
Well, in a way I'm disabled...I'll take any port at this point.
Even a port-a-potty, har.
(Okay, that was awful.)
Very cool! It's not often you get a win (you can use the bathroom without being harassed) - win (woman don't need to worry about transgendered folk using their bathroom). Though there's probably a longer conversation about whether woman should be worried.
