Title: Is hormone therapy prescribed by a doctor covered by medicaid?
Post by: Sarah on October 21, 2008, 02:54:51 PM
so yeah, is it covered by medicaid?
or MediCOL or any other such state run organization in the US?
I know that if you go to jail, they are required to continue any prescription meds you are on regardless of reason.
If they are prescribed; in jail they have to give them to you.
But what about medicaid?

Unlessthere are specifically forbidden medications.

If the doctor writes the justification properly and avoids niggly little things like "for Gender Dysphoria" as they do with regular prescriptions then I would imagine yes; but check the Colorado regs to be certain. Each state medicaid program runs differently.
