Title: Beard growth after starting HRT (MtF)
Post by: findingreason on October 21, 2008, 09:44:20 PM
I was wondering, whenever I start HRT, I don't have a full beard and it doesn't grow in real fast (I shave every 2-4 days typically). But, will E and Spiro halt any further advance of the beard? Will it keep the rate of shaving the same for what is already there, or will the beard I do have continue to fill in faster, due to it already growing from T?

from what my Dr says, the E and spiro don't do much to stop hair growth on the face.
though some say Avodart may help reduce facial hair slightly, but think gettign it removed (laser, or electro) is the only option... ouch...

yes, with each it's different.  i think a good rule of thumb is the younger you begin your hrt the more effective it will be overall.  i used to shave every other day...but that was because i could never stand any fur on my face.  now i shave twice a week and find that about as effective.  i've heard others say that hrt had no affect at all...i guess it just depends on the canvas being painted on.

do keep us posted, it's all good information for the next girl.  God bless with...
