Susan's Place Transgender Resources

Hi im (Dru) Victoria and im a 25 year old MtF pre-op. I live and attend college in morganton NC. Ive known for sure I am transgendered for about 2-3 years now although it wasn't a clear path for me. My childhood memory is not very good but for the most part i had a typical middle class american male childhood I played sports had next door neighbor best friends and enjoyed playing with legos. At about the age of ten i started having recuring dreams of being female although for the most part i ignored this for a long time. As a teenager I considered myself balanced between genders mentally. I loved to use roleplaying games such as D&D and WoD as an outlet and an escape from reality. In my twenties my feelings became alot stronger and I realized I wasn't balanced and had no desire to be male. I have a small number of freinds who do know about me and are supportive although my parents either don't known or are in a state of active denial (I suspect the latter).Ill admit I have self medicated although do to the rules of this site which I respec I will give no other information on that. Don't worry however I recently researched and contacted a therapist in the Ashville area who has gotten me in contact with a tg friendly doctor and ill have my first visit and a hormone test soon. I still have a strong fear of dressing in public and have never done so yet (the situation with living in the middle of the bible belt dosen't help although the results of the recent election give me some hope for my state). Well anyway ive rambled on enough it's nice to meet everyone here :).
(I apologize for any spelling or gramatical errors im a biology major not an english major :laugh:)
